Technology moves fast, and nobody should be made to feel silly for asking how something works. At LithGeek Custom Gaming Computers, we run senior tech classes and one-on-one training right here in Lithgow — patient, unhurried, and taught by people you already know from the repair counter, not a call centre in another state.
We’re the only shop in the Lithgow, Bathurst and Blue Mountains region offering this kind of hands-on, in-person tech training. No competitor within 100 kilometres does it — which means if you’ve been putting off learning how to video-call the grandkids, back up your photos, or stop those pop-ups from taking over your screen, this is the closest place to actually get shown, not just told.
Senior Tech Classes
Our senior tech classes are built specifically for people who didn’t grow up with this stuff and don’t want to be rushed through it. We cover the things that actually come up in daily life: sending and receiving photos, video calling family, using email safely, spotting scam messages and phone calls, managing passwords without losing them, and getting comfortable with whatever device you already own — phone, tablet or computer. There’s no assumed knowledge and no judgment. Ask the same question three times if you need to.
Group Classes
Group classes run in our newly reopened training room at 85 Main Street, in small enough numbers that everyone gets real attention. Learning alongside other locals tends to make the process less intimidating — you’re not the only one unsure how to unlock your phone, and there’s usually a laugh or two along the way. Group sessions are a great, low-cost way to build confidence before moving on to more specific one-on-one help.
Personal Training
For anyone who’d rather work through their own device, their own accounts and their own specific questions without an audience, we offer one-on-one personal training sessions. Bring in your phone, laptop or tablet and we’ll work at your pace on exactly what you need — whether that’s setting up online banking safely, organising photos, learning a specific app, or troubleshooting something that’s been bugging you for months.
Our Training Room Is Back Open
We’ve relaunched our dedicated training room, giving us a proper space for group classes separate from the shop floor — quieter, more comfortable, and set up specifically for learning rather than squeezed in between repair jobs.
Who’s Teaching
Classes are run by our own team — the same people who repair your devices every day. Kevin “Mac” Mason brings 8 years as an Apple Software Specialist, and Felipe “Batman” Plaza covers the Windows and Android side of things. Tracy Collins looks after bookings and will happily talk you through what class suits you best. And yes, Astro the shop dog is usually around to say hello.
Booking a Class
Classes and personal training sessions can be booked by calling 02 6353 1669 or dropping into the shop at 85 Main Street, Lithgow, during opening hours (Mon–Wed 10am–5pm, Thu 10am–9pm, Fri 10am–4pm). We serve seniors and their families across Lithgow, Bathurst and the Blue Mountains, and there’s never any pressure to book more than you’re comfortable with — come along to one class and see how it feels.
