Whether your gaming PC was built by a professional, put together by a tech-savvy family member, or is a pre-built you’ve been pushing hard for years — when something goes wrong, it’s frustrating. At Lithgeek, we repair gaming computers every day. Because we spend so much time building them, we understand exactly what can go wrong and why.
We Know Gaming PCs Inside and Out
Most computer repair shops handle everyday laptops and office machines. We live and breathe gaming hardware. We know the thermal limits of a Ryzen 9 under load, what happens when a power supply starts to fail on a high-draw GPU, and why Windows decides to corrupt itself after a BIOS update.
That experience means we can diagnose a gaming PC issue faster, explain it in plain English, and give you an honest answer about whether it’s worth fixing — or whether something bigger is going on.
We repair gaming computers built by:
- Lithgeek (our own builds — we stand behind our work)
- Other custom PC builders
- Tech-savvy friends and family members
- Manufacturers like NZXT, Corsair, and Thermaltake
- Pre-built brands like Omen, Alienware, and MSI
Common Gaming Computer Problems We Fix
🌡️ System Overheating
Gaming computers generate serious heat. When cooling isn’t keeping up — whether it’s clogged fans, degraded thermal paste, or a case with poor airflow — your system will throttle, crash, or shut itself down to protect the hardware.
We’ll open it up, clean it out, replace thermal paste if needed, check fan speeds and profiles, and make sure your system is running at the temperatures it should be.
💥 Random Crashes and Blue Screens (BSOD)
Few things are more annoying than a crash mid-game. Crashes can come from RAM that’s running too aggressively, an unstable overclock, a failing drive, driver conflicts, or power supply issues. We’ll run diagnostics to find the actual cause — not just guess and charge you.
🖥️ Windows Problems
Windows and gaming PCs have a complicated relationship. Driver updates break things, game launchers conflict, updates corrupt system files — and sometimes Windows just decides not to cooperate. We can reinstall, repair, and reconfigure Windows properly without losing your games or data (when possible).
⚡ Power Supply Issues
A gaming PC under full load draws serious power. If your PSU is underpowered for your build, aging, or failing, you’ll see random shutdowns, instability, or components not getting the power they need. We’ll test it and advise on replacement if necessary.
🎮 GPU and Graphics Issues
Artifacting on screen, drivers crashing mid-game, games running at lower performance than they should — these are often GPU-related. We’ll test your graphics card, check thermals and drivers, and help you figure out if it’s a software fix or a hardware problem.
🔊 Boot Problems and “No POST”
Turns your PC on and… nothing. No display, no boot, no response. This can be RAM seating, a dead CMOS battery, a failed drive, or something more serious. We’ll work through it systematically and tell you exactly what we find.
📶 Networking and Lag
High ping, dropping connections, inconsistent Wi-Fi in a gaming setup — sometimes it’s the network adapter, sometimes it’s settings, sometimes it’s your router. We can help sort out connectivity issues so your online gaming actually works the way it should.
Honest Repairs. No Upsells. No Jargon.
We’ll tell you what’s wrong, what it’ll cost, and whether it’s worth fixing. If a repair isn’t the right call — if a part is at end of life or the cost doesn’t make sense — we’ll tell you that too. We’d rather give you honest advice than take your money for a fix that won’t last.
Yes — whether it was built by a professional, a mate, or yourself, we’re happy to take a look. We don’t require the PC to be a Lithgeek build to service it.
It depends on what’s wrong. Simple fixes like cleaning and repasting can be quite affordable; hardware replacements vary by component.
Just the tower is fine in most cases. Leave your monitors, keyboard, and peripherals at home unless we specifically ask for them.
In most cases, yes — we take care to preserve your files during repairs and will always discuss options with you before doing anything that could affect your data.
Yes. We understand overclocking and can help diagnose instability issues caused by aggressive OC settings, or help you find a stable configuration.
